Scotsman / Scotland On Sunday / Evening News

Edinburgh daily that will be lucky to mention Saints outside of the Old Firm meetings this season. Their WWW site is here

April 15th - Ratings for the semi-final mention Mensing as having scored the goal. Pity it was Hardie then?
March 18th- Airdrie win apparently halted a run of "no league wins in 12 for Saints" - funny I thought it was just no away league wins?
March 11th- Partick report say penalty handball claim came from a Peaso cross - nope it was Mensing
January 27th- Page 10 of weekend sport 27/01/07 a win over their nearest challengers in Perth would open up a 15-point gap with the Raydale side holding a game in hand - thanks to gary.munro@blueyonder.co.uk for that one
November 9th- Report on the Ibrox win said it was only the 2nd time we'd beaten Rangers in 35 years -wrong there were two other wins at McD.
October 15th- Report of Gretna draw has Sheerin crossing for the 2nd goal - nope it was Goran.

Daily Record (or Waily Retard as we know it)

A bastion of professional journalism as shown below. Managed 2nd place in 1996-97 but walked away with the title in 1997-98 before reverting to 2nd in 1998-99 and winning it again in 1999-2000 and 2000-01. Their WWW site is here.
January 2nd-Report of McInnes signing has it down as 2 years - wrong it's only 6 months.
November 7th- In the pullout the Punter, It said Queen of the South recored their 1st league win against St Johnstone when we beat them 5-0

Falsehood League Standings

My daily read so expect a few entries here. Especially as they tend to give some coverage to the non-OF teams. Excludes any drivel written by Bill Leckie who has his own category. Won the title in 2001-02 and 2004-05

September 13th- Report of Morton cup tie said Simon Mensing twice put us in the lead - nope the 2nd was an equaliser.

Falsehood League Standings

Sportscene + Ceefax + BBC Online

Also includes the BBC On-line service at news.bbc.co.uk

March 17th- "Philip" Morais??????
February 3rd- Highlights of the Falkirk cup win said McInnes was our skipper - wrong
September 11th- Preview of Morton cup tie has Willie Miller unavailable!! As apparently no doubt is Willie McLaren!
September 9th- First of the season from the Partick report which said that Scott Milne scored two for us. Savo will be pleased.
Falsehood League Standings

Bill Leckie

Sun columnist and reporter with a dodgy quiff and a wonderful fetish about Barbour jackets. Thinks of himself as the champion of the underdog but still annoying. Still he pisses off the OF so we can't complain too much.

Falsehood League Standings

Sunday Post

Not a regular read but always good for some errors.

Falsehood League Standings

News Of The World

Another honest and fair paper (aye right). Excludes the page of McNee rants - he has his own section (see here).
April 15th- "That 's a fact in a previous semi-final Saints held Rangers 0-0 at Hamphen in April 1989. The Ibrox men were then 4-0 replay winners". But the match was played at Parkhead. Thanks to gary.munro@blueyonder.co.uk
Falsehood League Standings

Scumdee Courier / Sporting Post / Evening Telegraph

Reasonable good coverage given that its a Scumdee Daily. Their WWW site is here with the Tele at www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk
Falsehood League Standings

Sunday Mail

Old Firm are Scottish Football so the rest don't matter - as you might guess. Winners in 2003-04
April 8th- Gretna report mentions "Frenchman" Filipe Morais!!!!.
March 11th- Partick report says we won at home in September and away in November - other way round so another 2 points.
October 30th- Two howlers from the Ross County report - firstly it was Rustybitz not Mensing that cleared Burke's shot off the line. And secondly Cuthbert is not the County keeper so he won't save any shot from Henry.

Falsehood League Standings

Radio Tay

The Dundee radio station, famed for Dick Donnelly - don't take it seriously

Falsehood League Standings

The P.A..

Again, don't expect too much here - Gordon Bannerman usually knows what he's talking about, even if the editor doesn't. Their WWW site is here

Falsehood League Standings

Gerry McNee

STV Sports Editor, ex-Sunday Mail Columnist and the nearest we've got to a Scottish Jimmy Hill. Now writing for the News Of The World although with his obsession with Man Utd there is little Scottish content any more!!!!

Falsehood League Standings

Sky TV + SkyText

Satellite TV and Teletext for the masses - known to come to McDiarmid when a defeat is in the air. Mind you we're not in the SPL so expect complete ignorance of Saints
Falsehood League Standings

Chic Young

Ibrox's most famous St. Mirren fan and living proof that you need fuck-all knowledge to be a journo.

Falsehood League Standings

Hugh Keevins

Saintees everywhere's favourite ex-Scotsman journalist. Amazing tunnel vision since based in Embra he seems incapable of dealing with anything other than the Wegie Unwashed. New for this year since hes bound to cover some Saints games. Now writing for the Sunday Mason as the replacement for McNee (some honour eh). This man is the MOST LOATHED journalist amongst Saints fans.

Falsehood League Standings
