Hugh Dallas
(Motherwell) - Back to Ref League Table
- 30/09/00 - Saints v Hibs - 20 (17
votes)- God I'd love to see what he's like when the cameras
aren't in town. A dodgy sending off of Cap'n Jim at the first goal, a
definite offside at the second and a refusal to red card Jack for
raising his hands were just some of the examples of the skills on show
from what is supposedly Scotland's best referee.
- 02/12/00 - Dundee v Saints7 (9
votes) - Absolutely dire with bookings galore dished out to
Saints players but the diving antics and handballs of the home team
ignored. Only booked Caniggia when he lashed out at Jim Weir when anyone
else would have seen sense and dished out the straight red. This man is
an embarassment.
- 01/04/01 - Saints v Hibs 26 (9
votes) - Worse than usual thanks to the TV cameras being there.
No red card for a last man in the first half, a perfectly good Saints
goal chalked off and 2 penalties turned down. Just as well we won
really.
- 20/05/01 - Pars v Saints 24 (5
votes) - Didn't send Tod off despite numerous last-man
challenges, only booked Fergusson for his assault on Tommy and didn't
see Pope's penalty claim. To his credit it took a linesman to force him
to give the Pars a penalty and he did try to let the game flow when the
Fifers were kicking shit out of us.
Alan Freeland
(Sheepville) - Back to Ref League Table
- 23/09/00 - St Mirren v Saints - 33
(6 votes)- An OK performance if a bit card-happy towards the end.
To his credit though he didn't fall for the diving antics of Quitongo or
Yardley and kept the game flowing.
- 22/10/00 - Saints v TFOD - 137 (19
votes) - Broke the mould by awarding Saints a penalty against
TFOD and had a fairly good game. Willing to play advantage and punish
the diving antics of the bigots. Not helped by some dodgy assistants but
one of the better ones so far this season
- 12/05/01 - Saints v Arabs 16 (5
votes) - Dodgy 2nd half sending off of JR Hartley and an
inability to punish Miller's diving and dissent means marks chalked off
in an otherwise pretty decent performance.
Dougie McDonald
(Edinburgh)- Back to Ref League Table
- 29/07/00 - TFOD v Saints - 37 (7
votes)- Total mince with Craporuso free to strangle Jones at
every opportunity and the Bread Queuer forgiven for all his handballs.
- 19/08/00 - Arabs v Saints - 61 (8
votes) - Turned down one Saints penalty claim and got a bit
card-happy late on but a fairly good performance based on some of the
others this season.
- 28/11/00 - Saints v Aberdeen - 28 (5
votes)- Some strange bookings for Saints players whilst some
Aberdeen challenges went unpunished but was consistent for both teams
and tried to let the game flow.
- 03/02/01 - Dundee Utd v Saints - 20
(3 votes) - Two penalties were right but more than keen to hand
out cards to the Saints players whilst letting Lauchlan and Miller away
with dissent, tugs etc. Still some credit for at least letting the game
continue beyond half-time.
- 07/04/01 - Motherwell v Saints 13 (6
votes) - How he managed to keep his cards in his pockets amazed
me. Gave us a penalty but an otherwise dire performance with continual
timewasting and niggling challenges allowed to escape unpunished.
- 05/05/01 - Saints v St Midden 29 (7
votes) - Far too willing to dish out cards early on and almost
lost control of the game. Gave us the penalty and deservedly sent off
Ricky Gillies but there were some strange decisions on show. Still kept
the game flowing.
Mike McCurry
(Wegieland) - Back to Ref League Table
- 26/12/00 - TFOD v Saints17 (3 votes)-
Took his time in punishing some offenders but turned down TFOD's penatly
claims and at least tried to give Kiegan some protection.
- 28/04/01 - Saints v Aberdeen 4 (8
votes) - Nightmare of a game. Darren Young escaped several
bookable offences in the first half and the decision to allow the
Sheep's 2nd goal after Stavrum's foul on McCluskey defied belief. The
man is a danger to sport.
Garry Mitchell
(Arbroath)Back to Ref League Table
- 18/11/00 Saints v Dundee Utd 28 (6
votes) - Not a bad game with a deserved red card for Partridge
but his ability to ignore Hannahs fouls on Dasovic and MoMo were a
disgrace and the lack of cards being shown early on meant the 2nd half
was a lot dirtier than it should have been.
- 27/03/01 Aberdeen v Saints 16 (4
votes)- Can someone please explain the offside rule to this
arsehole.
John Underhill
(Edinburgh) - Back to Ref League Table
- 16/09/00 - Saints v Dundee - 52 (8
votes)- Tried to keep the game flowing and was at least willing
to ignore the Dundee Divers cheating antics. Failed to red card Tweed at
the end for a last man challenge on Kiegan though and Saints had a
decent penalty claim turned down in the first half.
- 14/03/01 - Saints v Celtic - 20 (4
votes) - Consistently crap although chickened out of booking any
of the bigots whilst picking up any Saints player. Very poor with the
linesmen and generally naff.
Stuart Dougal
(Burnside) - Back to Ref League Table
- 05/09/00 -Saints v Killie - 26 (7
votes)- Turned down 2 decent claims for penalties and somehow
missed McLarens challenge on Sylla in the first half (but not the
opposite one in the 2nd). Not our favourite person.
- 16/12/00 - Hibs v Saints 10 (3
votes)- A total inability to punish Sauzee's dissent and Fenwicks
assaults on Kiegan managed to infuriate Saints fans in a game with
little in the way of contentious incidents.
- 17/03/01 - St Midden v Saints - 4 (4
votes) - Absolutely dire. Books McCluskey and JR for nothing
offences but fails to take any action against Quitongos diving, McGarrys
hacks, dissent or kicking the ball away. And don't get me started on the
timewasting or penalty claims............
Eric
Martindale (Wegieland) - Back to Ref League
Table
- 09/12/00 - Saints v St. Midden - 45
(8 votes)- Nothing controversial in the game and to his credit he
let the play flow as much as possible.
- 03/03/01 - Saints v Scumdee 32 (8
votes) - Gave us a penalty but some shocking use of the red and
yellow cards with Cannigia magically escaping any punishment for
continual diving and de Marchi not redcarded for the penalty. Still
tried to let the game flow.
John Rowbotham
(Kirkcaldy) - Back to Ref League Table
- 06/08/00 - Saints v Hearts - 29 (7
votes)- Some very poor decisions not helped by incompetent
linesmen. In his favour he didn't fall too much for the diving antics of
Banjo etc but they should have been in the book for some of the
challenges.
- 17/10/00 - Saints v Celtic 6 (14
votes) - Ignoring the debate as to whether the match should even
have been played in the first place this was a prime example of crap
refereeing with both goals and a red card for Stuart Malcolm coming from
idiotic decisions by this moron. To think he used to be a good ref as
well - just another Of-biased wanker.
- 25/11/00 - Killie v Saints 9 (3
votes) - Well it couldn't have been worse than the Sellik match,
but despite giving us a penalty there were some dreadful decisions being
made including booking McCluskey and Parker for retaliation but taking
no action against Mitchell or Cocard for identical offences.
- 11/02/01 - Saints v Killie 20 (5
votes) - Gave us a penalty but that was about it on the night as
aided by 2 of the most incompetent linesmen in Scotland both the offside
and advantage rule found their own interpretations tonight.
Bobby Orr
(Kilbarchan) - Back to Ref League Table
- 27/01/01 - Saints v Pars (Scottish Cup) 35
(6 votes)- Not too bad and awarded Saints a penalty. Kept a
reasonable control on the game in the 2nd half when it looked set to
flare up as well.
- 13/02/01 - Pars v Saints (Cup replay) 23
(10 votes) - Dire. Two penalty claims turned down and he even
managed to block a Kane shot - one of which was so blatant even Rob
McLean thought it should have been given. Little protection for the
Saints forwards whilst punishing our defenders all the time.
Willie Young
(Clarkston) - Back to Ref League Table
- 26/08/00 - Saints v Killie - 28 (5
votes) - Not the worst of the season but not helped by some poor
linesmen. Bookings werer few and far between in a clean game so little
of controversy. Might be nice to see a ref not bedazzled by McCoist's "reputation"
and actually take some action when the player performs his 4th dive of
the afternoon.
- 02/01/01 - Pars v Saints - 18 (3
votes)- Not the best ref in the world but a reasonable game. Some
strange interpretations of the advantage rule though and can someone
tell him the tackle from behind has been outlawed.
John Fleming
(Glasgow) - Back to Ref League Table
- 30/12/00 - Saints v Hearts - 12 (2
votes)- Little in the way of controversial incident but a decent
enough performance. Plenty of cards dished out though and Petric should
have seen red for a 2nd yellow offence towards the end.
Kenny Clark
(Paisley) - Back to Ref League Table
- 04/11/00 - Saints v Pars - 15 (3
votes)- Not too much to complain about really although a bit too
happy to punish some of the 50-50 challenges. Still it was a shite game
with little controversy.
David Somers
(Cumbernauld) - Back to Ref League Table
- 12/08/00 - Pars v Saints - 7 (11
votes)- Absolutely diabolical as he allowed himself to be
overruled by a linesman for the Pars penalty despite being 45yds nearer
the action. Allowed Saints players to get kicked all over the park and
couldn't even implement the new rules about players leaving the park.
Cards waved about galore but somehow it was a Saints player that got
sent off despite persistent fouling from the home defence. A total arse.
- 23/12/00 - Saints v Motherwell 11 (4
votes) - Deservedly sent off Derek Adams but both Spencer and
Hammel escaped bookable offences. Still given the highly charged nature
of the game he did well enough to let the play flow occasionally.
Tom Brown
(Edinburgh) - Back to Ref League Table
- 22/08/00 - Saints v Cowdenbeath - 20
(6 votes) - In a fairly even game he managed to book 4 Saints
players for minor offences whilst allowing all sorts of shoves to escape
his attention. Still the booking for John Martin does save his
reputation a bit.
- 09/09/00 - Aberdeen v Saints - 9 (6
votes) - Sent off Weir in about his only decent decision whilst
continuing to book Saints players for every foul - not that these rules
applied to any of the home team. Absolutely dire.
George Clyde
- Back to Ref League Table
- 28/10/00 - Hearts v Saints 44 (6
votes)- Gave us a penalty but didn't have too much to do. Some
close offside decisions for both teams but for the most part he let the
game flow.
Kevin Toner
(Gourock) - Back to Ref League Table
- 14/10/00 Motherwell v Saints -- 10
(2 votes) - Fairly average performance although a tendency to let
fouls go unpunished meant that both sets of fans were irate. Still at
least he sent Kemble off for trying to murder Parker.
- 12/11/00 Celtic v Saints 18 (4
votes) - OK performance with only one booking for Kiegan. Having
said that there was no action taken against Petta for retaliation or
diving. As usual.
- 21/04/01 Motherwell v Saints 27 (5
votes) - Decent enough performance although took far too long to
act in terms of dishing out cards. Still rarely missed a foul and at
least communicated with his linesmen properly.
