Willie Young
(Clarkston) - Back to Ref League Table
- 31/07/99 - Saints v Hearts 55 (8
votes) - Not a bad performance. But let Fulton away with murder
on McQ whilst booking Bollan for his first offence.
- 15/04/00 - Hibs v Saints 16 (5
votes) - Pretty crap but the game didn't help. Some strange
advantages and unwilling to punish any handballs.
- 13/05/00 - Saints v TFOE 46 (7
votes) - Good game overall with the red cards for Lubo the
Swearer and Thug Johnson both dished out without any qualms. Missed a
valid Saints penalty claim but let the game flow well and didn't take
any dissent.

(Wegieland) - Back to Ref League Table
- 07/08/99 - Celtic v Saints 9 (2
votes) - Crap. Almost as bad as the team with his total inability
to punish any of the Celtic defence - some of the challenges on Del and
Miguel were criminal.
- 19/09/99 - Dundee v Saints13 (6
votes) - Dire. Failed to red-card Douglas after bringing down
Thomas and let the tinks away with plenty of timewasting tactics and
basic cheating.
- 23/04/00 - Saints v TFOD 7 (5 votes)-
Another crap performance. More than willing to dish out yellow cards but
distinctly reticent when Amoruso should have been shown a second one.
Still with the atmosphere generated he was probably more concerned with
his own safety.
Hugh Dallas
(Motherwell) - Back to Ref League Table
- 24/10/99 Saints v Celtic 7 (22
votes) - As usual, the TV cameras come to town so Dallas has to
be shite - one of the worst decisions ever in allowing TFOES injury-time
winner and overall obviously trying to make up to Celtic fans for May's
OF debacle. The man should be banned now.
- 24/11/99 Hibs v Saints40 (7 votes)
- A quietish game although as usual he had to make some stupid decisions
such as booking Bollan for nothing whilst letting Brebner escape a red
card for diving (despite having booked the overrated wee shite earlier).
Alan Freeland
(Sheepville) - Back to Ref League Table
- 21/08/99 - Saints v Hibs 12 (14
votes) - Absolutely diabolical and almost lost total control of
the game in the second-half. Let McGinlay away with murder, overruled
linesmen and booked 6 Saints players for little or no good reason. This
man makes Stuart Dougal look fair.
- 16/10/99 - Hearts v Saints 22 (9
votes) - Dire. Booked 4 Saints players whilst letting Wales,
James etc away with all manner of cheating and diving. I suppose we
should just be grateful he didn't chalk off our goal.
- 27/12/99 - Scumdee v Saints 13 (4
votes) - Crap - far too willing to use the advantage rule instead
of penalising nasty fouls and how he missed some of the holding and
obstruction beats me.
Eric
Martindale (Wegieland) - Back to Ref League

George Simpson
(Westhill)Back to Ref League Table
- 27/11/99 - Arabs v Saints 11 (4
votes) - Crap. Booked Jones for a late challenge but let an
identical Arab one escape in the second-half. No effort to penalise
timewasting and his interpretation of a push in the back leaves a lot to
be desired.
- 01/04/00 - Motherwell v Saints 11 (4
votes) - Dire - the worst ref of the season with a total lack of
fairness as Saints players were booked for anything but hackers like
Goodman escaped punishment. Turned down 2 Saints penalty claims as well.
Kevin Bissett
(Inverness) - Back to Ref League Table
Dougie McDonald
(Edinburgh)- Back to Ref League Table
- 15/08/99 - Saints v Killie 24 (9
votes) - Totally shite. It's amazing there wasn't a serious
injury given the challenges he was ignoring. Almost lost control of the
game and was far too willing to play advantage. And as for those dodgy
offsides.
- 04/03/00 - TFOD v Saints 28 (9
votes) - Absolutely shite. Bookings galore for Saints fans but
nothing for the TFOD. Fouls galore missed and how on earth 4 minutes
injury time was found in the second-half I'll never know.
Ian Fyfe
(Linlithgow) - Back to Ref League Table
John Young
(Thornliebank) - Back to Ref League Table
Tom Brown
(Edinburgh) - Back to Ref League Table
- 22/01/00 Saints v Motherwell 49 (9
votes) - Rubbish - booked Jones for nothing and then let
Motherwell away with murder for most of the game. Still redeemed himself
with a yellow for Spencer for diving late on.
- 25/03/00 Saints v Dundee39 (9 votes)
- Not too bad but suffered badly from ignoring the Annand dives and
Saints penalty claims whilst booking Saints players for nothing.
- 29/04/00 Dundee Utd v Saints 27 (5
votes) - Nothing too contentious apart from some stupid offsides,
a silly booking for Weir and refusal to give Saints a penalty. But
wasted far too much time asking for kicks etc. to be retaken. Petty to
say the least.
John Rowbotham
(Kirkcaldy) - Back to Ref League Table
- 30/01/00 Saints v TFOD 61 (10 votes)
- Excellent game despite denying us a penalty. Given the conditions he
allowed the match to flow and wasn't too whistle-happy. Why can't we
have him more often?
- 11/03/00 TFOE v Saints12 (3 votes)
- Absolutely shite - let TFOE away with far too much especially shoves,
high feet. Not helped by the worst linesmen in the world.
- 06/05/00 Jambos v Saints 33 (9
votes) - Sent of McBoggin but that was about the only action he
took with the cheats.
John Underhill
(Edinburgh) - Back to Ref League Table
- 15/02/00 Saints v Rangers 33 (17
votes) - Gave the Huns their traditional penalty in about the
only fair decision of the night as some absolutely ridiculous decisions
saw TFOD go unpunished, whilst Saints had several bookings. How on earth
he missed Spuman's raised hands in one of the mini-brawls beats me. Not
helped by any of the other officials and suffers from a -1000 points
penalty for falling for Dundee-Reject McCanns Olympic dives.
Stuart Dougal
(Burnside) - Back to Ref League Table
- 25/09/99 Rangers v Saints 26 (7
votes) - Very dodgy penalty and refused to book any TFOD player
for hacking Saints. On the plus side tried to keep the game flowing and
ignored Mols dives.
- 06/11/99 Saints v Dundee 45 (7
votes) - Not a bad game although there was little trouble. Could
have done with penalising the timewasting though.
- 21/11/99 Saints v Aberdeen 44 (7
votes) - Again a fairly good game although some of the Aberdeen
tackles on Miguel were more like attempted murder. And once more the
away side get away with far too much timewasting.
- 15/03/00 Saints v Hearts 7 (17
votes) - An absolute disgrace. Turned downa blatant penalty for
Saints, ignored Jambo handballs and gave them every decision going. The
worst referee of the season by a mile.
- 02/05/00 Saints v Aberdeen 49 (9
votes) - Average to say the least but only one booking. A bit
lenient on the early hacks but this time he didnt have to worry about
blatant penalties.

Jim McCluskey
(Stewarton) - Back to Ref League Table
- 11/09/99 - Saints v Motherwell 45 (7
votes) - Gave one penalty but there should have been more. Still
not a bad job considering the "assistants". But when will refs
start booking players for kicking the ball away.
- 12/10/99 - Saints v Utd 23 (4 votes)
- Gave one penalty again but missed on the second. Still had a good game
booking plenty of Arabs including their divers.
- 26/02/00 - Saints v Utd 20 (4 votes)
- Failed to give Saints a penalty and took a while to book one of the
hacking Arabs. Kept up with play though and generally had a good game.
- 21/05/00 - Killie v Saints43 (10
votes) - His last game before retiring so we should probably
forgive him. Still let Killie away with murder though.
Kenny Clark
(Paisley) - Back to Ref League Table
- 29/08/99 - Aberdeen v Saints 19 (3
votes) - Fairly good game although the linesmen didn't help
matters. Still he tried to let the game flow and kept the lid on
tempers.
- 11/02/00 - Saints v HIVBees 6 (3
votes) - Abandoned the game at half-time whilst the pitch was
still playable. Managed to endear himself to the home support with a
booking for Nathan for nothing whilst letting HIVBee challenges escape
unpunished.
- 22/02/00 - Saints v HIVBees 46 (8
votes) - Not a bad performance despite some dodgy decisions.
Still he called the penalty correctly and booked Dirk the Diver so we'll
forgive him.
Bobby Orr
(Kilbarchan) - Back to Ref League Table
- 27/10/99 - Saints v Arabs 24 (4
votes) - OK but took his time dishing out the yellow cards.
- 18/03/00 - Saints v Killie 30 (5
votes) - Not too bad. Tried to let the game flow. Boring match
though so nothing too controversial.
Martin Clark
(Edinburgh) - Back to Ref League Table
G T Clyde
- Back to Ref League Table
- 30/10/99 - Motherwell v Saints 30 (7
votes) - Not a bad game - bit controversial with some decisions
though and a tendency to overplay the advantage rule. Should have
penalised the timewasting tactics more.
- 18/12/99 - Killie v Saints 22 (4
votes)- OK game but the failure to punish any of the Killie
challenges and especially Wrights tackle on Bollan count against him.
- 05/02/00 - Aberdeen v Saints 20 (4
votes)- As well as the usual play advantage rule his inability to
punish either diving, cheating or timewasting meant a very poor match.
