Another one-sided performance from Saints with the biggest disappointment
of the day being the loss of the first league goal this season after 81
mins.
Saints started well enough with Phizzy getting an excellent chance to
put us ahead inside a minute. Instead he shot wide and had to wait for
another 2 mins before opening the scoring. After that it was pretty well
one-way traffic. Roddy, Tosh, Georgio, ONeil and Weir all had chances.
Midfield was working well with Farquhar not allowing Archibald a chance to
retain possession. Defence was solid with Griffin and Weir looking as though
they'll develop a good partnership.
Saints second came from the penalty spot after ONeil was pushed in the
box - Georgio taking the kick. Preston also managed to hit the post before
half-time.
Second half saw Saints continue to dominate tho E Fife managed to put
together some good moves (usually just prior to booting the ball out the
park or straight to a Saints player). Roddy forced a good save from Lindsay
Hamilton on the hour but Georgio was there to tap home the rebound.
The fourth was vintage Roddy. Tosh wss fouled on 73 mins and Roddy got
a diving header on the end of the Farquhar free kick.
Even after that there was still time for Charlie King (on for Roddy) to
just shoot wide and Georgio to miss another. So we stay top of the league
and it still looks like E Fife are certs for the drop.
One final word - there was a good crowd of Saints fans there today - just
a pity that some of the arseholes couldnt manage to shut up during the
minutes silence for Frank Christie. Welcome back to the fair weather fans eh?
