Shit. Bastard and Fuck. After getting off to our usual shite start this
was a game we should have wrapped up in the second half of normal time -
but instead Saints tired too much and Jambos did it to us again.
Saints looked dodgy at the start of the first half, Preston looking
uncomfortable at left-back and Danny and Weir taking time to get any sort of
understanding. Combined with McQuillen doing his usual and leaving the
right-back position open for Scumdee-reject McCann and it was no real surprise
that Saints lost a stupid goal after 15 mins and were lucky not to lose a
second which hit the post.
The midfield looked OK at times - Tosh played out of his skin and Attila
and Phizzy were combining well - tho Dino managed to pick up a yellow card
for the usual offence of trying to tackle the oppositions biggest diver. Up
front we didnt really cause any problems - Georgio and Phizzy both having
good efforts. But Rousset in goal picked up every high ball and Saints were
unable to get a decent cross in.
Second half was a different story - all Saints with some excellent posession
play. We equalised after 50 mins after a Preston through chip was headed by
Georgio to Attila in front of goal who caught Rousset out by heading back
to the oncoming Georgio to score. After that chances fell to Georgio, Scott
and ONeil with the latter missing an open goal. Saints were forced into some
changes when Weir went off to be replaced by McCluskey and Attlia by
Farquhar. Both subs had good games and suffice to say we won't be missing Mr
McGowne too much.
Extra-time was a pretty dull affair - the Saints players were exhausted and
it looked like the fight had gone out of them. We lost a stupid goal when
Beckford tapped home a loose ball after 105 mins and just after the start of
the second period Shitface Robertson scored Hearts third. Still at least he
got stretchered off after a tussle with McCluskey !!
Overall a better performance than the Scottish Cup but we need to go out
and sign a striker - Roddy has too much pressure on him and to be honest he
didnt once look like scoring tonight.
Man Of the match for me was Danny.
