Team ::
Main,McQuillan,Bollan,Dods,Kernaghan,Dasovic,O'Neil,McMahon,
Kane,Georgio,Lowndes
Subs :: Grant,McCluskey,Griffin,Simao,Ferguson
Oh well. No that's wrong. Oh Fuck. Oh Shite Oh Bugger, Damnation and all the other swearie words which no amount of will convey how shite I feel tonight. Remember St*nh**semuir, F**k**k and all the other crappy performances that made you feel sorry and practically ashamed to be a Saintee the next day....well now there's another one to add to the collection. We all know how tradition dictates how shite we are against the Sons of Satan - Christ knows theres enough Totten/Sturrock history there to tell you. Well now St. Sandy's name can be added to the list and with only 3 weeks till the Cup Final you can be guaranteed that the odds on Saints winning will be such that a 50p bet would be enough for Wiggy Advocaat to get a new trim.
Since the team couldn't be arsed to work for one another there is not going to be the standard match report this time. They scored 7 with 2 penalties from the Hun Hun, 2 from Guivarch (one of which was a worthy match winner), a scuffle goal from Wallace, a tap-in from the Finnish no-name and a drive from Andrei 'Mums off to queue for a loaf' Kanchelskis. Oh yeah and the ref was as crap as can be expected with Kane red-carded at the first penalty after 25 minutes and Georgio kicked all over the park by Has-been Hendry to no avail. And as if that wasn't bad enough the whole fucking shambles was on Sky for us to be continually humiliated by in the run-in to November 29th.
Right, match report over time for a run down on the crap on the field
that had the audacity to wear the blue and white ::
MAIN :: Hardly caught a ball all night. Sent the same way at both
penalties and was caught off his line for one of the Frogs goals. Still no
doubt this convincing performance will ensure he gets a move to a bigger
club. And he still can't throw or kick the ball to a Saints player.
MCQUILLAN :: Goals 2, the penalty to 3 and 7 and goal 6 were all from the
right thanks to MCQ being out of bloody position all the time. Spent most
of the night in the back pocket of Gary Numan.
BOLLAN :: Slower than a lethargic Roddy. Skinned by Kanchelskis plenty of
times and looked every part the ex-Hun trying against his ex-teammates.
DODS / FATHER DOUGAL :: OK performances (surprisingly enough) but were
caught flat-footed several times. DODS looks steady enough but Kernaghan
is not half the player he was last season.
KANE :: Unjustly sent off (looked more like a yellow to me) but should
never have given away the penalty - teams can't go 3-0 and a man down to
the Sons of Satan. Given that he's now out of the TFOE match (and probably
more given the bookings he's been picking up), don't expect to see him go
straight back into the side
DASOVIC :: MoM for the sponsors but no better than the rest. Summed up
Saints night at the end when he put the ball over the bar from a yard out.
Tried his best after Kane went, but can't hold the midfield on his own.
MCMAHON :: Think Harry Curran without the cult status. Absolute shite.
ONEIL :: Ran his little arse off but somehow has lost all ability to
communicate with the rest of the team.
GEORGIO :: Ditto.
LOWNDES :: OK first half but was fouled by Hasbeen several times. St.
Sandy took him off at half-time - fuck knows why
GRIFFIN :: Came on for Lowndes and showed some of the grit the rest of the
prima donnas have been lacking. Picked up a booking and gave the second
penalty away but deserves a return to the side.
MCCLUSKEY :: Apparently he came on for McMahon. Totally Anonymous.
GRANT :: Came on, got booked, end of story.
Little else to say, except that St. Sandys tactics were at best weird and
at worst very naive. Losing 3-0 he takes off Lowndes and puts on Danny
whilst letting McMahon stay on the park. Then at the end brings on Roddy
when the pace of Simao would have been much more effective. Fuck it I'm
off to get pissed.
