St. Johnstone completed their short tour of Ireland in Belbridge last night with Martin Lauchlan finally giving the visitors something to smile about after a frustrating few days.
Lauchlan's strike shortly before the hour meant a share of the spoils in this lively encounter.
For the first time in the tour the Saints sgowed a bit of menace in the final two thirds with Miguel Simao holding the ball up well for George O'Boyle. But it was the home side who went ahead after just five minutes when their industrious midfielder Jason Colwell fired home from close range.
Shamrock remained comfortable and well-deserved their lead at the break. However, after 13 minutes of the second-half, Saints' defender Stuart McCluskey pulled the ball across and there to deliver an unstoppable striker was Lauchlan.
Their Irish opponents were far from finished however, with Colwell forcing a good save from Alan Main at the end.
